Ashe’s performance is faultless at Shepherd’s Bush Empire
Ashe made her first appearance at sold-out Shepherd’s Bush Empire, on 31st May, as part of her international tour titled: The Fault Line Tour. The music venue was packed full of excited audience members, who were left in awe at her incredible vocals and raw honesty.
Ashlyn Rae Wilson is a California Native, who made her debut in 2018, with “The Rabbit Hole”, an EP, to coincide with supporting Quinn XCII on his From Michigan with Love World Tour. However, the song that changed her life was Moral of the Story. It was produced by Finneas O’Connell, who is the producer behind all of Billie Eilish’s biggest hits and has won eight Grammy awards. The track was used in popular Netflix rom-com To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, and reached number 2 on both the Global and US Spotify Viral 50 chart in 2020. In May 2021, Ashe released her debut album, Ashlyn.
With the lights dimmed, Ashe appeared on stage from a white arch, wearing a gorgeous pink and blue Subin Hahn suit. She opened the show with fan favourite “Me Without You” and the music venue shook as fans jumped up and down, eager to catch a glimpse at the star.

Although not a natural dancer, Ashe has a stage presence reminiscent of Harry Styles and was constantly interacting with the audience. At one point a bear was thrown on stage and the singer eagerly picked it up and asked the owner if it had a name (it was called Luke). The bear remained onstage for the rest of the show, with easily the best view of all the fans.
The set list was very reflective of Ashe’s own life, with both extremely positive danceable tracks, like new song, Another Man’s Jeans, and Kansas, and some more heart-breaking ballads, like Taylor, (joined onstage by Will Taylor, of the band FLYTE), and Save Myself. However, the real standout, was Ashe’s stripped-down version of the song Always. Before she performed the ballad, she warned audiences that it was about her brother who had passed away, and that she may struggle to get through it. But she didn’t. In fact, her voice was so mesmerising that the entire audience fell into a hush, just to listen to her raw emotions, and stunning vocals.
As well as songs off of her debut album, Ashe also performed an unreleased track called Angry Woman, which is definitely going to be a feminist anthem. It is being released on 22nd June 2022. She also did a cover of Queen’s Somebody to Love, once again showcasing her impressive vocal ability.
The show ended with two of Ashe’s most well-known tracks. The first was Til Forever Falls Apart. It is usually sung as a duet between her and Finneas, however she performed it solo, relying on the audience to provide backing vocals, and they definitely came through.
As a full circle moment, she finished the set on the song that started it all, Moral of the Story, and left fans in shock and awe as she left the stage, choosing not to do the traditional encore.
