This year Little Mix were again nominated for ‘Best British Group’ and they have won making history as the first ever girlband to win the Brit Award in this category.
In previous years the Spice Girls, Sugababes and Mis-Teeq have all been nominated and have been snubbed by the Brits, but this year it was the time for females to take over.
Talk about Little Mix
This year was arguably a celebration of women in music and their influence over the music indsutry, Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, Little Mix and Arlo Parks were all big winners at this year’s ceremony. Although male artists were nominated in some of the same categories not many have won, and finally the industry is changing where more women are not just represented but they are winning the awards too. 10 years ago we never saw this many female nominated by The Brits, the ceremony has come a long way since then.
As the music industry evolves the award shows must also represent artists fairly.
