Friday Feels – 20/03/20

Every week providing you with quality songs handpicked and this week includes Joyner Lucas, Charly Black, Jessie Reyez and more.

1.Joyner Lucas – Will

A tribute to the great Will Smith, Joyner Lucas is praising the famous actor and singer’s efforts. We all know Will Smith is considered celebrity royalty for any musician or actor across the world. He has been in some of the biggest blockbusters, including Bad Boys, I Robot and Pursuit of Happiness. Joyner is rapping his way through Fresh Prince of Bel Air and comparing himself to “not having an uncle Phil”. This is almost a parody track including titles of the hit movies and references to The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Joyner Lucas is aiming to achieve as much as Will has in his entire lifetime.

2. Charly Black ft Ne-Yo – Over Again

Dancehall, Reggae singer is back with the R&B sensation Ne-Yo with a new track. Get ready for your summer, carnival and outdoor garden parties as this track will have you moving all types of ways.

Now it all turns pretty dark, are you ready for this?

3. Jessie Reyez ft Eminem – Coffin

Dark, dreary and cold lyrics throughout, both artists talk about being betrayed, but falling so deep in love with someone over that it’s led to a coffin.

Jessie talks about watching a boy jump off the roof and needing a coffin, and mentions Buddha and reincarnation can bring him back in another form, it’s not all over. Eminem speaks of wanting to commit suicide, how much he loves her, and sometimes you will need a coffin so “neither one of them have nothing to lose”. This song is about doing anything for that one person you love to death. Let us know what you think of this track.

4. Little Mix – Break Up Song

Our favourite four ladies are back. This time Jessie, Perrie, Jade, Leigh-Anne talk us through their extensive breakup and trying to avoid that ex. He was their everything but they are not having it, singing with attitude and honing their independence the girls sing about being screwed over and over by a guy, but they are enjoying their lives without that special person. Sending the message that it’s okay to have tears and cry over that person, but this breakup song is here for you to sing your heart out and embrace your single life. Forget that ex who destroyed you, it’s just another break-up song to help you get over that love you had.

The ladies never fail to bring the sass and just what we all need to hear! Who needs to be in a relationship?

5. KAMILLE – Love  + Attention

South London artist KAMILLE From Streatham is back with new music. She is known to be the genius behind some of the biggest tracks for Little Mix, JLS, Leon Lewis, Olly Murs and The Script. She is a very well known and talented songwriter in the industry, previously won the A&R Award for ‘Songwriter of the Year’ in 2018.

Her new single has similarities to the songs she has written for Little Mix, sassy, R&B feels and a clean vocal.

6. Kygo, Zara Larsson, Tyga – Telling Like It Is

Rounding off the week with a classic dance track ready for the summer. Everyone loves a feel good song but this track has a twist, featuring rapper Tyga. He brings that Hip Hop vibe to this clear cut party track. A track for those outdoor clubs in Miami or Ibiza. Zara brings her versatile voice back with a pop track and shows off her talent on a basic song, for easy listening. The lyrics are nothing special.

This is not a usual collaboration for Tyga, I’m intrigued to learn how this came about. Was it a promotional collaboration to help new European artists Kygo and Zara?

Or an organic collaboration from all parties?

Check out the song and let us know what you think.
